Those guys were crazy, yes, but none crazier than boardtrack racers from the 1900's and 19-teens. These guys were doing 100mph on bikes with essentially bicycle tires, total loss oiling systems and a wool sweater and pants to protect them from sliding on wooden planks if they crashed.
