Looking to buy a new top, material only, what have you guys paid to have them Installed?? I wanna keep the top the factory 2 piece design and can't justify spending over $300+ on a used top that's also 15+ years old and could go to shit any day with the right weather...so i figure new material on my frame that already works great would be the best route..so lmk your experiences fellas thanks...im just gonna buy the material from convertible guys.com they got the best prices..

I asked a few places in my area, the average was around $1200 incl. new top/ rear windows or around $900 for labor alone. Then again, I live in Marin county.
Still haven't done it yet ;/

I just paid 1200 at a shop in hayward. Did a really nice job.
You can buy a brand new one for 350 with padding and wires included, i ordered from here last year and was very satisfied.

Ill say one thing good luck! I've yet to see a top installed by someone (other then a professional upholstery shop) turn out right. Real quality tops like Robbins or Topps brand run some good cash plus the glass rear window is another added expense. Sure you can get a 200.00 ebay or some other silmilar online top and itll go away quicker then the good quality 15 year old top..

An excellent reason to come buy the top I have! Sent you a pm the other day!

I bought a Robbins top for $400 or so, then had it installed just yesterday for $390 at Soft Tops in San Jose. Same day service, and he did a fantastic job.

I tried to save a buck and bought a cheap top for like $200 and found an upholstery shop on Craigslist in milpitas $500 labor. His job pics looked good but my install came out crappy. I'd say go with a reputable or referral shop and pay for the quality.

Hard to see but these are the only pics I have...my best friend(pictured) did this top for me on my first GT...took him nine hours and a lot of sweat but it and out looking factory (save for the plastic window).

I wasn't there, I was out of town but he said its not hard just tedious and time enduring.

I don't know, he said something about a warranty, but considered I provided the top, I don't know what the situation is.
