I hope this is true. Im planning on getting one next year when they hit the market. IRS, Lighter/smaller= instant buy for me.

The next-generation Mustang is expected to come with several engine choices: a 2.3-liter, EcoBoost four-cylinder with around 350 horsepower, the base-model V6, and a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with upwards of 450 horsepower. The 2015 Ford Mustang will feature an independent rear and we should be seeing a glimpse of it before the end of the year.

Ugly or not, it's lighter, faster, smaller and seats 4. Looks are up to personal taste. Everybody hated the new edge mustangs when they first came out but the Cobras were loved for their performance. With that being said, I still have love for my Cobra and there's a 99% chance I'll enjoy my 2015/16 when the time comes. The performance rhumors will help me get over the controversial looks real quick. As soon as the dealer mark ups go away, I will most definately be signing paperwork.

Exactly. The IRS+smaller size+light weight is a must buy for me. I almost dont even care what it looks like. Im just excited for the next chapter of Mustang. The retro stuff has run its course.

I hope they actually put some nice sized tires on them. I think the new cars looks so damn stupid having a wide ass body with skinny tires IMO.

Ford is losing it man they are gonna make the new Mustang 50th anniversary look like a fastback fusion. And have you guys read about the new F-150 Ford is basically saying they may do a unibody frame and that they want to focus more on luxury and comfort rather then truck qualities and buyers who use the trucks for work basically an suv with a small bed. Terrible!

I doubt ford will drop "work" from their trucks. If anything they will just elaborate the line of luxury models. The whole focus currently is "we own work".

after the 99-04 body style, the Mustang has not done it for me in the looks department. It looks like this one will also induce vomit on sight for me.... I hope then keep it with a traditional muscle car look and not try to play it to the world market with the European styling.

It won't look the same. If your statement is influenced by these pictures, the only reason it looks similar is because they're testing other things in this picture and at the time there was no need to change the rear and cover It up.

From a Ford Motor Trend Press Release,
As for why the reasoning behind the construction switch, Ford said that "a unibody architecture enables us to better engineer the trucks to suit the demands of today's truck buyers, who expect greater on-road comfort, a quieter cabin, and better fuel economy. Today's buyers are also less concerned with traditional details like payload and tow ratings and are less likely to use their trucks to haul or tow."
