Thinking of buying a Contour SVT. Any problems with these to look out for?

2 of my friends used to drag race theirs. They were nice cars, this was back in late 90s.

My mom owned the cougar with the same 2.5 duratec motor and it was just a bunch of bullshit to deal with on it. Alternator went bad and it's behind the tire and the bolts are in the middle of the block radiator hose leaked all over the starter etc. but those cars were made 4 year only and 3 of those years had multiple recalls
Might be a song to a different tune with the svt's

My homie has one for sale. Clean title original owner nice looking car and really reliable. I always like them. Only bad I heard on them is people breaking there tranny because of to much drag racing.

I got a regular Contour for a daily beater that i got for free and its a pretty nice car, sure beats the hell out of the Corolla i had , I've heard some good stuff about the SVT Contours.
