What did you guys use?

I've seen PVC sch 40 pipe used with success ... Personally I would use copper

I dont trust PVC heard to many stories about it exploding.

I have one of these with 50ft of hose mounted to the ceiling in my garage. It can reach anywhere in the garage and even out into the driveway. Very handy.

Id stay clear of using PVC for compressed air. Its not legal at shops & just like u said Mike, I've heard stories of em blowing up. I'd go with copper or galvanized steel pipe. Copper would be easier to install, but will be more expensive.

I got a 100ft like willit's mine goes from corner in my garbage by entrance passing my curb on the drive way I paid $35 at the flee guy I know sales everything new for cheap

Has anyone looked into those composite systems with the quick connects? I forget what the name of the company is but if I recall the pipes are black and the fittings are blue. I remember reading good reviews about them and they are super easy to set up.

For a home hobby shop I've used that kit that is very similar to the one in the Eastwood catalog , has blue flexible tubing, quick connect elbows and aluminum bulkheads to screw into the walls . Worked well , the push lock fittings (in my experience ) would leak a little, couldn't hear it but if I left the compressor on it would come on once during the night . To me it wasn't a big deal I just would shut it off at night. I saw a similar (looking) kit at harbor frieght but don't know if the quality is the same?

What I did was have a seperate outlet right off the compressor incase I needed less pressure drop from the lines , or if I wanted to run a hvlp paint gun with a seperate filter so I wouldn't have contamination or condensation in the lines! What ever you do don't run one of those auto oilers just oil the air tools independently of the system , it will save a lot of grief if you ever want to paint anything

Use 1/2"or3/4" Galvanized pipe.
