If you are having trouble finding a job, one option would be to change your career path by going to school or applying for job training.
Another option would be to temporarily throw boxes at UPS or deliver Pizzas until something better comes along. [burnout]

Look into property maintenance, super easy work, constant, and usually start off around $15-$16/hr with opportunities to advance.

Union...? [Roll Eyes]

If you're a big time people person and have the patience to deal with people, Dealerships are where its at. I've never personally worked for a dealership, but know a few people that work at BMW, Volkswagen and Ford and they have zero complaints.

There is money in the automotive industry, especially if you're doing sidework. you can easily score 7-10k a month if you know your shit when it comes to vehicles.

I work in the construction field, and I gotta tell you. It has its ups and downs, but right now... its flourishing. Walmart is building thousands of neighborhood markets, and Target is building some new stores as well.

apply at a transit agency or for a government job. shiet....try to get into the police academy or fire.
i hear these sorts of jobs pay pretty damn well, are damn near recession proof and requirements arent much(assuming you're not retarded or a criminal)

if you're the type who likes to slave yourself at work, a transit agency job like at bart or muni would be perfect as i hear its not uncommon for one to rake in their base salary amount in OT alone. crazy shiet if you ask me.

Get into college, or community college, apply for financial aid. Then begin applying for work. You will have better chances when the human resources director see's that you are in college, and that you aren't just some fool looking for a JOB, but more of a Career.

If you haven't yet decided on going to college, think about life in the next 10-20 years. The ratio of students going to college right after high school is getting smaller and smaller.

Go to college if you have not yet done so, it will positively effect your chances of getting a better position.

Experiences/Sources: Management runs in my family and I constantly hear about how many applicants get turned down because their lack of motivation, seriousness and most importantly, EDUCATION!!
