It shouldn't be like that but the military is government funded and the nfl makes it's own money from tickets, clothing and things of that nature...

Definately not! I respect people that have fought for our country..I believe it should be more.

Its just like the water and diamond paradox. For example, water is very essential to life yet so cheap. And diamonds are not essential but crazy expensive.

I don't get it!

You mad?

I grew up a military brat, so I have much respect for anyone involved with it. I actually wouldn't have a job if the military wasn't around. But, how can you be upset because someone worked hard to make those millions...a better comparison would be a list of lottery winners Vs. ANY working person.

Sounds like a pro-socialism argument to me. NFL players have a union, military personnel don't.

Seems fine to me. No one is forced to be in the military.

How many people can be pro athletes? 1 in a million? How many people can enlist? Damn near anyone.

You're right, no one is being forced. But the statement of "how many people can enlist, damn near anyone" is incorrect. I can personally speak for the Air Force, we are pretty choosy. You get out what you put into the service. I don't want a bunch of fukktards.
And I counter with, " how many actually serve AND finish an enlistment...yet alone 20+ years?" Less than 25% of the force.

With more than 75% of today's general populous being unable to join due to legal issues, financial problems, obesity, physical standards, tattoos/piercings...the list goes on.

They SHOULD be paid more, but there need to be even tighter standards.

Technically an assistant manager at Walmart makes more than an E6. The fact of the matter is, people who join do so for love of country, not to get rich. Both my father and step-father spent 25+years each in the military. They did it because they loved it, not because they thought they should make a ton of money doing it.

If you wanna make some real money, don't fear death, shooting and protecting people you have to join the military. While in the military get into some real shootouts for a few years, gain combat knowlege and get hired on with a contractor like http://www.blackwaterjobs.org/

You won't make as much money as a pro athlete but you can make 100k+ with a high school diploma and not have to follow all of those pesky NATO sanctions.

Now that's capitalism at work. [patriot]

Seems logical cause not a lot of pple can be the best football players but a lot can easily join the military. if I were to get paid as much as nfl players, I'd join the military right now.lol.

I was a Marine Corps recruiter in Turlock and i can tell you 2 out of 10 poeple are mentaly, moraly and physically qualified to join. The pay chart above is only an estimate does not include $280/mo food allowance and alowance for housing. Im a Staff Sergeant and here in San Diego it's an extra $2150 per month for housing. The chart above also does not show years of service that will chage the pay aswell, so it's not too bad at all. Also they are in the PROS for a reason, plus i chose this anyways. [patriot]
