I'm thinking about picking up a revolver but haven't really done any research on them. What brand/model do you guys recommend? Obviously, the cheaper the better, but I definitely dont want a piece of shit that will fail on me when needed [Wink]

I currently have a Sig P226 .40 cal that I love, but I want a revolver to pair it with for those "just in case" moments [patriot]

From what I hear Taurus come with a lifetime guarantee?
Like they'll replace it if anything ever breaks on it, no questions asked type of deal.
Sounds pretty good to me

What are the most "cost efficient" ones? Also, what caliber do you guys recommend for a revolver?

I never recommend trying to save too much when it comes to guns but as far as revolvers go you will definitely find a deal if you are patient and look around. As far as caliber I love my .357 I can take it to the range and shoot cheaper .38 loads but when I need it I have the stopping power of .357 Magnum.

I've got a Taurus 605 (.357 w/2" barrel). I love it. Great gun, pretty accurate for only a 2" barrel. I think I paid something like $460 with tax and everything.

I did do a couple of mods right when I got it home though. I replaced the hammer spring with a lighter one and replaced the grip with a Hogue. When I had the side plate off I also cleaned it really well inside. The cleaning with the hammer spring got rid of the grittyness you read about with Taurus triggers.

Like above can't go wrong with ruger or s&w! Or if you want a real sick one dan wesson makes some Badass revolvers. 357 is a great caliber and like stated you can shoot the cheaper .38 out of them! Wouldn't turn down a 44 if you found a good deal though awesome caliber!

I got a 45 long ruger that's fuckin badass I also have a 44mag ruger that's badass to but if lookin for something just in case semiautomatics is the way to go imo. But if you want one and never shot one I would go with a 357 or a 38 special [patriot]

what could I expect to pay for one of these guns? Are they typically more than semi-auto pistols? If I get one, I'd want a 3" barrel at most...the smaller the better. I plan to keep this one downstairs for easy access [Wink]
