16 mpg is killing me, Im looking into picking up an Escape. Need the suv room to haul tools, and four wheel drive is a necessity where I live, so the Escape hybrid looks like the best option. Wondering if anyone had ant experience with one.

I drove an escape hybrid at work for a little bit while I was traveling. I'm not so sure it got that great of mileage for the short time I had it, but it had 120k miles on it so it wasn't new either. If you're looking for room and 4wd, what about a Subaru?

I've got a non-hybrid escape with 105k miles. No issuses whatsoever. Its a good little car for the money. I've even done some super mild wheelin in it and didn't get stuck. I would definitely replace it with another escape when the time comes.

thanks for the input guys. In regards to the Subaru, i definitely look into but mpg is just not that great. At this point I'm having a hard time finding a decent used selection, the ones nearby are 2006s with around 100k miles for 10k or so.

Ive pretty much have look into everything. I m slowing growing a dislike for everything GM, Ive owned a few trucks and they always become a pita, little shit going wrong. The Honda CRV and Toyota RAV are still on the short list. Your subaru gets pretty good mpg i just want that 30!
