Been having this debate with a few people lately and thought I'd just start a thread and get everyone's input and thoughts..

This is geared towards pushrods also..

Would you rather have a H/C/I 331,347 or a H/C/I 302 with a turbo, supercharger???

I pick the 2 combo...

I have seen stroker motors put out nice power but would it get raped from say a 30mph roll from a boosted 302 with the same power?

Is the day and age of big motors over since boost is reasonable now???????

try to keep this a clean thread also...

If you guys want to post #'s than feel welcome too

Depends on how much money you have. I would do HCI supercharged 302 but if you have the money for it why not a hci supercharged 347?

460 bored/stroked to 532 made 514rwhp and 576rwtq. Some day i may put a shot of nitrous on it or maybe supercharge it.

i think what you must decide first is how much power do you want to make, be realistic. second, determine your budget. make a specific hp goal and find the best route to achieve that power.

These would be nice numbers to achieve, BUT I bet you spent 5x's more on this setup than he will on a blower or turbo on his 302. Also, if he does an supercharged/turbo HCI 302 I think he'd get close to your numbers for a lot less money.

In my opinion, if you're on a budget, I think a power adder isthe way to go...HCI strokers tend to get costly.

But I'm only starting this thread because me and a few buddies of mine have been having heated debates lately.. I'll be strting another one real soon here that will prob piss some folks off hahaha...

But I did forget to add.. this is to be kept in reasonable budgets... we all wish we could build $ 10k motors but thats not reality, heck most people here can't get an aftermarket blocl..

So take it from there... I'm sticking with my forced induction 302

Someone prove me wrong.. where are all the stroker guys at [Confused] [Confused]

I know it's a lot of them on here

I choose the blower route mainly that you can make tons of HP and also be very streetable. You will not need the biggest heads or a huge cam with lots of overlap to make over 500rwhp with a blower or even easier turbo. I would love to go n/a with a 408 stroker on my next setup, but I will not make the power I am making now unless I have over 12:1 compression and a huge cam in a 408.

if you had a a modular id say go with a positive displacement blower to have that "bigger cubes" feel in a "smaller cube" setup.

Yellow94GT never touched anyone's sig or banned anyone, so I'm going to quit spreading that rumor. It's not like I have any proof anyways. All yellow94gt and other mods have done is volunteer their time to help other people buy/sell parts, learn how to make their cars go faster and meet fellow enthusiasts. I'm a hater, but it's hard to hate on these facts. I have saved hunrdeds, maybe thousands of dollars here buying and selling parts over the years alone, but I don't care, this website owes me damnit, and I'll piss on it as much as I want. Us haters gonna hate. Why contribute to something when you can take for free?

Dart SHP 9.5" deck 4.125" bore x 4" stroke (427ci)
8.5:1 compression.

Done correctly a low compression all-motor 427ci will FAR out power the the best all-motor pump gas 347's in the area which make 450+RWHP and run 10's on motor.

Then save up for a blower or turbo down the road and push as much power as you like.

Build a strong, 10-1 stroker motor. If that is not enough, then boost it. At least you have a solid foundation, and a cam swap is all that you would need to get the motor optimized for the power adder. Sure, it's tempting to add a $1,500 used S-trim to your stock shortblock, but it's only a ticking time bomb.
