you could try rapping it up in a dry towel for 20 min. but it will always come back no matter what you do. just have to bite the bullet and pay that 100$ to get a new one sent exchange for yours [Big Grin]

Don't wrap it in a towel, that only "fixes" it for a very short period of time. There are a lot of how to's on line how to do it. Here's the basics with a few tips to go along with any guides you might find.
You need to take it apart, remove the motherboard, remove the heat sync's, heat both the processor and video processor with a heat gun. You need to be very careful not to move the board around while its hot, if you heat it to the correct temp the solder will be soft and components will move out of place. When you clean the heat paste off the chips and heat sync's put Arctic Silver 5 compound back on it, you can get it at fry's for like $6.
I have a 360 that would red ring all the time, I would fix it and get a day or two before it would tweak again. Don't be afraid to get the board HOT! That's what I was doing wrong all along, once I finally got pissed enough to not care how hot I got it and its worked for months now. Good luck and hit me up if you have any questions.

It's time for the country to do what Obama's own father did.

You use this to fix it :

Making the moderators cyber-sit me is probably a good way of getting my account locked for a while. I know they're busy folks volunteering their time to help others out. It's selfish of me and others who make their task more time consuming and difficult than it already is. In fact I should either chip in and help out or not participate at all. I'm going to do my best to be part of the solution and not the problem from now on.

There is a nice walk through on Youtube on how to fix it if you get bored one day. Don't toss it, you might as well and try fixing it and maybe learn something along the way.

Jump on u tube and search how to fix it. It is only temp fix but mine was all good for about 8 months before it did it again. Put aside like 2 hours and a 6 pack. all u need is a heat conducting compound from any electrical/computer store and a screwdriver.

I think that smell was me, sorry!
