ya a linksys or netgear will be fine for what you need it for. Router only matters when you get into doing real routing and switching.

Yea linksys sucks. I ordered a router for my home from dell and it always reset and had hella issues. I wont use their product ever again.

Right now I'm using a good 2wire modem/router. Works great with no issues at all [worship]

That goes for anyone else that has Comcast.

I'm very satisfied with mine. I'm over 25 feet away from it with hella walls in between and I still get good connection.

My 2wire is a router and modem. I got it from my dsl company.

25' ? *yawn* [Wink]

Linksys by far has the best software in terms of ease of use, but not all that stable. Linksys hardware (except for the 600N) is pretty rock solid. Most people kill the Linksys software and put on DD-WRT (www.dd-wrt.com)

I would stay away from Belkin and Dlink. I have seen there manufacturing facilities (they use a CM right next to our CM) and they QA is crap and they use a lot of graymarket items.

I dont have much experience with 2wire, but a lot of the WISP operators I talk to stay away from them as they dont play nice with a lot of networks.

Anyways on a side note, my company has the longest 802.11a wireless link right now at 314kM. If you guys want some crazy coverage, hit me up. I can take a standard Linksys, turn off the wireless, plug a PicoStation 2 into it and give you coverage literally over 3 blocks away. A lot of high end homes have our stuff in it, because most linksys type devices cannot provide coverage for homes over 2500sq ft. And it costs less then 100

I would have to agree with 90gtvert. I'm running DD-WRT firmware on my Linksys WRT350N and it runs waaay better than it ever did with the Linksys firmware on it.

Do you have promo materials you can send me? If we move our office like we plan. I may look to sever the ties with what our current office provides.

linksys used to be cool until they started making their routers look like cheap plastic spaceships. i found that netgear is pretty solid.
