I have authentic chrome Saleens that need to get refinshed. I was going to get them powercoated with a color matched lip but was told that the "Saleen" stamp would be stripped. I would hate to remove that stamp.

I think I may just get them done in black chrome but does anyone know if the rechroming process will removing the stamp as well?

Hey brian ( it's ian...bought your boss wing a while back)...why would the stamp get stripped off? I would think at worse it wouldn't be as prominent as before, but not completely stripped away. When powder coating or chroming, do they remove material?

shouldnt be affected since they should be stripping to the base then rechrome the layers.

I had a set of Saleen Speedlines that were horribly bad...originally chrome...they had been sitting somewhere damp forever. I had them sandblasted and powdercoated. The Saleen stamps were slightly worn off...but not as bad as I would have expected.

Was done at US Powdercoating in Rancho Cordova...I think he charged about $300 for the set. A lot of the cost was due to how F'ed up they were before. They did a fantastic job.

Hey Ian I remember. The wheel repair shop said they could not 110% guarantee that the stamp would be preserved. You are probably right that it won't be competly stripped away but I just don't know too much about it and the shop won't guarantee it.
