Topic: smog with no tail pipes

im gettin my car smogged pretty soon and im not runnin any tail pipes right now just straight out the muffler. to pass both parts of the smog test do i need to have tail pipes all the way out the back or will i be ok the way i am

Should'nt be a problem. I have passed with the same. You never know when the smog guy will be looking for a reason not to test Your car though?

as long as you don't have any problems with the sniffer stick getting close to the rollers your all right. that is if you even have to put it on the rollers. my 88lx didn't have to go on the rollers.

No problem,done it many times.Unless the tech is a puss and doesnt wanna climb under to insert the probe.

I did my test just recently with no tail pipes or mufflers and passed just fine but its all on the techs mood

you passed smog with no mufflers? So just strait headers to H-pipe?
