Are there better providers out there that are similar in price or cheaper. Currently we have direct tv in 2 rooms paying like $45 a month. We want to have 4 rooms hooked up but I'm thinking Direct TV is kinda pricey.
I know some places have deals if you are a new customer. Direct tv does but we don't qualify of course because we are current customers.
Who do YOU prefer?

I like Direct TV. I will never go back to cable. Always seemed to be down doing work around the area, funny cause they were never doing work at my house.

Direct TV is great. You can add a room for 5 dollars more a month. Call them and ask. I currently have 2 rooms for 45, just like you...Total Choice Plus w/Local. I can add my office TV if I wanted for 5 bucks per month. It's still cheaper than cable!

I have dish network right now and its HORRIBLE.
thunderstorm yesterday knocked out the signal for several hours.
everyday at least once when I hit the "guide" button on the remote it has to download the channel listings, which takes 5 minutes where you can't watch tv or browse the guide. Why that can't be downloaded in the background while watching TV I don't know but its ghey.
paying $54/month with the HDTV package, which is 4 channels (TNT, disc, HDNet, and a PPVHD)
totally not worth it, back to cable for me. I want to try out the adelphia ondemand setup

Call Direct TV and tell them you are going to switch to Comcast. They will most likely try and offer you some sort of special deal if you stick with them.
I used to have Dish and when I cancelled they were going to give me free service for two months if I stuck with them.

i have dish network and i have not had one problem at all and ive been with them for 3 yrs. i dont pay that 5 dollar extra per room like directv. i sell directv and i wont go with them, only reason id consider direct tv is beacause of nfl sunday ticket options. directv hd/tivo reciever is a lil cheaper tho so if thats what you need/ want then yeah go to or stay wiht directv

I've had it for the last 4 years. As long as they keep the NFL package I will not consider switching to anyone else.
If your in to HDTV they recently launched more sattelites for additional HD coverage which will go on line very soon.
