I was there on Saturday. Didn't seem as well run or as big as Mini-Nats of previous years.
Too bad for #84. That ex-Bondurant car got pretty smashed up.

What happened, did he over drive the car and which turn was it? To bad it wasn't run well this year, i haven't run with that club in years.

I remember running mini Nats two years ago and it seemed to be ran well. I had fun on the track with a bunch of guys from an Oregon corvette club! There were a few aggressive/fast guys in my group (one below race group) but for the most part a lot of guys were going fairly slow.
I guess that's to be expected when people are driving rare collector cars...

The incident was a solo spin-out into a wall at 8 or 9, from what I was told. The car was all alone, then suddenly lost traction and 'boom.' The speculation is that he oiled down his own tires from a fluid leak. The driver seemed be be uninjured. It was his first session of the weekend, too.
Between problems with the PA, to confusion over the sequence of the Saturday schedule, and the lack of any real vendor displays, it just didn't have the vibe of a normal Mini-Nats. Norcal SAAC is still a good group, but this was not one of their better events, from my perspective.

My wife and I took our 2014 CS/GT out on Sunday. It was our first time out so we did not get too crazy. It was a blast to go wide open on the staight aways. Saw the wrecked car from Saturday.
