its coming up, and i had an intermittent CEL (meaning it would flash on for half a sec then off while driving at around 2500 rpm's approx) i forgot the codes but it was 2 different ones. i cleaned the egr valve and the iac and the CEL hasnt been back on since. if the codes are still present but no CEL is illuminated, will that fail me?

also, its been about maybe 3k miles since i passed smog 2 years ago (legit), should i change the plugs, wires, o2 sensors, etc...or due to miles since last test, i should be good. looking for opinions, thanks.

Taking the battery cables off should reset any stored code in the computer.

If the car is running good and that few miles since the last smog, I wouldn't worry about changing any parts out.

in a nutshell, i knew I had one cat (driver side rear) that was broken into pieces and a chunk actually dislodged itself all they way thru the tailpipe and onto the ground. all the other internals of the other cats were good, it was just that one and it still passed! didn't do much other than an oil change a few months ago....shit i didn't even know what the timing was at since the last smog check in 2018....but I guessed it was at 8 degrees. (had no timing gun actually couldn't find it lol)

I waited about an hour and a half...so a bit worried. but its all good..another 2 years to go.

"MAX" indicates the maximum emission allowed for the contaminant, based on your automobile's model year, engine size and vehicle weight.

"AVE" shows the average exhausts produced by cars of the same year, make and model.

"MEAS" shows the measured emissions from your automobile. It is this measurement you have to be interested in in relation to the maximum level permitted in the MAX column.

HC is Hydrocarbon
CO is Carbon Monoxide
NO is Nitric Oxide
co2 is Carbon Dioxide
o2 is Oxygen

co% is low so that means the cat is working and lit. on the pre 96 (obd2) cars you dont have to worry about codes, just a check engine light as they dont plug into obd1. But 99 and under all get a sniffer in the tail pipe. If the CO% is high generally it means the cat converter isnt working efficiently. or you got a bigger problem with fuel trims like dumping fuel.

Your numbers are all good, just always make sure you get that converter warmed up before you bring it in for a smog. not 1 time around the block. get it nice and toasty.
