Which would be the better head for a stock carbed 302. Mostly will be a street driven car . Currently undecided on cam selection

REGULAR WEDGE 170, THE 170 11R WILL FLOW MORE LIKE A 190CC HEAD

Thanks after a bit more research I think I’ll go with the 170 11R’s ..anybody ever use the trickflow 190 11R’s on a stock 302? They’re the same price as 170 11R’s so I was just wondering how that would go for street/strip

I personally know two cars running 190 11R’s on stock 302’s. God damn do they run for a 302, some think they’re stroked

Get the regular 170cc wedge heads not the 11r, the 11r 190cc flow the same amount of air as a afr 205cc that’s overkill for a street 306 with 6000rpm peak you will lose low end ,I’m running 11r 190cc on my 408w street motor

Afr 165 > 170 tf's. The afr's will help you over the whole range, vs the 170's are only better in the higher rpm range. Seat of the pants, and stop light to, stop light the afr's are better. Had both on the same car & motor, and have time slips showing over all et's are the same. But the afr's have a better short times, and the tf's had 2 more mph. But the same 12.51 et's. 12.51 @ 108 for the afr's, and 12.51 @ 110 for the tf's. As stated before. The 11r isn't a head for a stock motor. Not to mention, the smallest valve they use a 2.02. So camshafts choices are also going to be very limited with a stock piston. [ 2019-08-22, 04:57 PM: Message edited by: warhorse58gt ]
