Have a 99 cobra and want to get the motor ready for a supercharger. Any shops around the bay area who can install forged internals? Thanks

What about picking up a short block already built?

I thought about that. But wouldnt that cause my title to say "Rebuilt"? And would that be harder to smog since there is no vin on motor?

I don't think smog shops check for vin # on blocks. Rebuilt title is for something else not engine swaps.

Correct. Swapping an engine won't change your title status.

You could pick up a boost ready short block, place it on an engine stand, and move over parts/components from your original engine, and on to the new one. The Internet is your friend. If you can turn a wrench you can do the build yourself. (Well...maybe not everyone) Give it that you have the space to do it. You save a ton of money doing it yourself. Most of us on this forum have done it once or twice. [ 2016-03-03, 08:44 AM: Message edited by: Autumnstang97 ]
