How do I wire up an electric fan? Do I need more than just the electric fan?

Just do a search this has been covered many times here. Yes You can just run it off a toggle but the wires U run will be warm or even hot to the touch and the switch will also fail but a relay will help.

Just go buy a e-fan harness that works with a temp sensor. Easy install, looks clean and itll hardly ever fail. Ive done a few on my own cars and i havent had an issue.

I dont have a specific brand but stay away from the push in probe. Get the one with the sending unit that screws into the intake manifold. You can also get one with an adjustable temp control. Costs about 60 for a decent one

I did this exact install and went through 4 fan controllers and several relays per controller over 2 years. the tarus fan initial start up has a tremendous AMP spike. to fix the problem I put in a set of dual ford contour fans and used a flex a lite speed controller. 100 times better it brings the fans on @ 60% buy plusing the power on and if it gets to your set temp it turns the fans on 100% have had the same setup for the last three years and 0 issues
