I have a complete 93 cobra mc install kit from MM with the plug, adapter lines, wilwood prop valve, and of course the mc itself. Instruction say to "adjust pushrod depth" for best results. Is this really necessary if I'm not open tracking the car or will a bench bleed suffice before install?

They want you to adjust it so you get full pedal travel when you stomp on the brakes. If you dont you might not be able to fully use your brakes

if you don't adjust it, the pushrod from the booster might be out too far - brakes will dragging constantly while driving, or not extend out far enough when you hit the brake pedal - won't be able to stop the car.

Duncan honestly this is the first ever time I've even heard of this. Doesn't get taught till it's necessary I guess. I've seen 10 year plus mechanics throw new mc's on commuters all day no adjustments just a bench bleed. That's why I asked if its just a sport driving type adjustment or do it no matter what.

Commuters is a different story. Youre building a car to race so you need to make sure all the important parts are working properly.

even commuter cars have this problem. almost every pushrod in there is adjustable for this, its not just for the performance cars, its so the normal car is right, just a lot is skipped at times in people learning curve, I didn't know about it for a long time either.
