I have been living overseas for almost 2 years and will be looking at restarting my Cobra which hasn't been touched since, next month. Any advices on what I should do? Before leaving I did disconnect the battery, full tank of gas (with stabil), new oil/oil filter, car in neutral, handbrake off, etc...
Not sure if battery can be recharged or replaced, but else I was thinking of just doing an oil/ oil filter change, remove spark plugs and add a bit of oil in there. Anything else I should be doing? Anything I should be wary of?
Thanks

i would charge the battery and before u start it. disconnect the ignition coil plugs and crank it for 30 sec intervals at least twice. thatll get oil pumped through the motor before it fires.

Ah cool, that's a good idea, in which case I wouldn't need to remove the spark plugs and add some oil? That seems a lot easier/ faster.
As for the battery, it was disconnected: how do I know if I need to replace it for sure? [ 2015-05-18, 03:31 PM: Message edited by: alexv ]

if you don't have a way to load test the battery you can take it to any parts store to have it tested for free.

Alright cheers, so what I got so far is: -Test battery (recharge or replace as needed) -Change oil/ oil filter (there is only about 2miles since the last oil/ oil filter change, but that was 2 years ago, so probably need replacing anyway). -Check for flat spot on tires -disconnect coil packs and crank engine a few times to lubricate the heads with oil
Not 100% sure: -Replace coil packs (I guess if I see signs of corrosion, then replace, else good to keep, yeah?) -Flush/ replace coolant? -Syphon/ replace gas
Seems about right?

I would replace the oil last after running it for 30 minutes. Since you changed it before storage, it would be assumed to be ok.
If it starts to run rough, you might have a fuel pump problem.
