I got a crack on my intake manifold. It looks like water mixed in my oil and messed up my engine. I got a quote for $6k to rebuild my engine and the intake manifold. I have the ability to have my car sit for now while I save to rebuild. I was considering upgrading my engine while I do this anyways. I have read people upgrading to a Coyote 5.0V 412HP Crate engine. However that seems very expensive. As it is not directly comparable. It would require me to spend a lot on extra parts and labor. <br />I have not read anything on this but what about upgrading to a 99/01 Cobra engine? Would that fit with my 02 GT? <br />Does anyone have an expertise/experiences with this? Anyone have a good recommendation of a shop that will do good work near Oakland? I have seen a ton of used engines with warranties online which seems to be the way to go. But I am wondering if there is any reason to go new.
