Topic: dtc p0174 and idle, need help

So ive got a 98 cobra and check engine light was on for 4 reasons, 2 codes i already know the problem but the other 2 idk, they are p1443 and p0174, now i did some research and some people said they could be the maf, iac or vacuum leaks, i know i dont have any vacuum leaks, i cleaned the iac with carb cleaner (maybe the wrong thing to use) but now when i push the clutch in the rpm hangs a bit and when it warms up it wants to stay right at 1600-1800 rpm unless i rev the motor, what is your guy's opinion on what i should do next?

i tried cleaning my IAC and it did the same thing after rpms would hang i bought a new one and problem solved mine had over 200k miles on it.
this was on my gt but then i also swapped them on the cobra motor i put in
Also changed the evap canister and one other sensor but if you do have a vac leak its probably the line from the vacuum canister that goes in to the pass fender and connects to a hard line that runs to the gas tank i believe; mines was like swiss cheese. if you have small hands simple 5 min job.

yeah tell me about it took min a minute when i had the same issue to work it out but changing the iac and checking the canister and line from canister to hardline in the fender wall was the fix for me

I replaced every hose for the smog stuff with clamps in feb lol

So replaced mass air flow sensor and idle air control valve and still getting p0174

So i just checked for vacuum leaks by spraying carb cleaner, sprayed on all hoses, intake manifold gasket, egr, air intake throttle body, iac, and the idle didnt change at all, since feb ive replaced all hoses for evap, fuel filter, air filter, plugs and wires, maf, iac, cleaned throttle body, plugs and wires, egr valve, tps, evap purge valve and evap purge solinoid, gas cap and all 4 o2 sensors. I need help lol, im pretty sure i have an exhaust leak between xpipe and header on passenger side, could this be the problem? I appreciate any and all advice

Googled it yesterday for a 98 cobra since my code popped up when i had my gt and not cobra motor installed and everything you listed is a possibility including exhaust leaks and bad 02 sensors.

Ive done everything it could possibly be so far except fuel pump, exhaust leak, and oil dipstick tube, i will be fixing exhaust leak and doing fuel pump shortly so we will see how it goes lol

Changed the fuel pump and put exhaust flange gasket in, wont be driving tonight, will see how it does tomorrow

So its still throwing p0174 and the idle still sticks when the car is at operational temp but not when cold

So im pretty sure i found a vacuum leak on the lower intake manifold gasket, when i spray a certain spot with carb cleaner the idle changes for a sec then goes to normal, could this be why the code is on and why my idle is messed up?

looks like you may have found it, also have you ever cleaned you imrc valves?that could cause a idle issue if stuck open/closed. Mine where deleted by sacstangdriver using the epoxy method. so didnt have worry about these. but i believe you would need a tune if you had them removed cobra computer would throw a code(ran mine on gt computer which doesnt have provisions for them

Havent ever cleaned them, what should i use to clean them? Carb cleaner and a rag or something else?

So i got gaskets changed and started car and now the damn think leaks gas lmao, just my luck, but im pretty sure its from an injector on passenger side so its gonna sit until next weekend when i can work on it again

Well got the gas leak fixed and the car still does the same thing, when the iac is plugged in it gets stuck at 2000 rpm, when it is not plugged in the rpm doesnt get stuck, does this with my old iac and my new one, gonna switch out the new one i bought for another one, if not the problem then my mechanic is gonna come over tomorrow and watch the car with his computer
