So I have been shredding belts over the past few years, I had no idea why. As of recently my coolant light has been turning on and off randomly.
On the way back from Sacramento I noticed a loud clicking and clunking noise ( noticed the AC clutch wasn't spinning, almost lost my index finger checking it). So I swapped the AC clutch.
I did a test idle for a few minutes, then again another loud clunking and light banging, this time I clearly noticed the Meziere electric water pump pulley was wobbling.
Car Specs( 99 SOHC, Built/Blown)
So long story short, I am trying to swap the pulley in this electric water pump. I have removed the two small allen bolts, but the pulley will not free loose.
Anyone have this issue before? What are my options (besides replacing the entire pump)?
Thanks,
RAJ

I'm sorry, but why does an electric water pump have a pulley? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Have you tried a pulley/jaw puller?

The pulley is used as an idler and maintains the same belt routing. This pulley is just an idler as the electric motor actually drives the water pump vane so there is no real load on the drive belt.

Haven't tried that yet, the pulley is really loose and wobbly and it still wont budge off. So I am really under the impression that it is pressed on.
I messaged Meziere, I just want to see what my options are as far as a factory warranty might be concerned. [ 2014-11-05, 09:24 PM: Message edited by: BLK35th ]

Got a reply from Jerry Dickinson at Meziere Enterprises.
Looks like I will rip out this waterpump and send it in to have the pulley repaired for $150.
At this point $150 vs $420 sounds a lot better.
Thanks for you help folks.
I am glad I asked here before trying to pry out a pressed on pulley.lol [ 2014-11-06, 12:20 PM: Message edited by: BLK35th ]
