So my 89 fox decided to stop working on me from one day to another.. I changed the fuel pump relay, ecc relay, I even swapped out the inertia switch and nothing either... When I open the switch the fuel pump won't prime..one thing that has me tripping is that when I have the key is on the open position I don't get a check engine light I also tried doing a self test and doesn't work either.
Any help would be appreciated... Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch..

The ignition switch was recalled on many models and can be replaced for free by the dealer if never dun. BUT if you do not slave out the switch you have not fixed the issue. If you do not have an SES light when keyed you have to go straight to the EEC relay and check it out. But go under the dash and push up on the harmonica connector of the ignition switch with the car keyed. If it powers up you found a bad switch and connector. Also both the switch and connector must be replaced together. Even so it will fail again if not slaved out. Also check your fuse links. One may be bad. This is also a common issue. Good luck [ 2013-12-23, 02:26 PM: Message edited by: Tom Renzo ]

I'm going to check that because I did move wires around under the dash when trying to run a kill switch.....the fuel pump is more than 5 years old but I've never had any issues with it at all..
