Every three weeks I'm replacing a distrubutor because the gear at the bottom of it snapped any idea why?

Is the distributor hard to turn when you take it back out?

Pull the pan clean it out and install a new PUMP.Also better check the CAM GEAR. That just might be TOAST ALSO!! [ 2013-10-03, 02:27 AM: Message edited by: Tom Renzo ]

what type of cam do you have and what type of gear are you putting in

I doubt it'd break that fast if it were a cast dizzy gear. Has to be something else that's putting strain on the gear itself. What kind of distributors are you putting in it?

three weeks is alot of time, daily driveing ive seen them go out in 3 days normally to a week.
