1993 foxbody T-5

I've decided to tackle my clutch job, I had a centerforce dual friction and it started to slip in 5th, then got worst.

I removed my clutch today, and noticed the clutch wore out more on the pressure plate side, is that normal.

Though, both flywheel and pressure plate have excessive heat spots and heats cracks..

What would cause the abnormal wearing on the pressure plate side? Or is that normal for it to wear that way?

Mike

Mike. The wear Marks should be even. Flywheel mite be out of balance or maybe just a faulty clutch.

Normally the pressure plate side metal is a bit softer than the flywheel. That is why it wears more. But in the case of the DUEL FRICTION setup the plate side slips more than the flywheel. personally i am not a fan of that setup. But the heat or hard spots have to be ground out of the FLYWHEEL before you can use it again. Or just replace the wheel. Those hard spots are from slipping the clutch or hard launched or both!Just saying!
