What heads would you use, while being "smog legal"....ie having eo numbers?
Car is a fun street car, swapping hci 302 and s trim out for 91' 351w that is stock. Swapping my legal hooker shorty headers, got a elderbrock efi performer lower to match the old 302 top end that is also a performer w/ bbk tb and egr. Also keeping the 36lb injectors for now. S trim will also be brought over if I can fit it under a hood somehow. Plan is to smog it till I have an issue then worst case ref it.

What heads did you have on the 302? The Edelbrock Performer heads will work on both 302 and 351.

Gt40 y heads....but either they are warped, block is cracked or I suck at changing head gaskets. It would be nice for a little bigger heads for breathing room. I was considering tw 180's from ford strokers with the upgraded valve train for a cheaper set. One the more expensive side would be tw 205's....still legal and room for a stroker down the road. But at this time I want to keep budget at $1500 or less.

351w heads are MUCH better than GT40s. Bolt on just enlarge the bolt holes. That or even pro comp heads.
