He checked bulb and replaced dash and it wouldn't come on! He said that the check engine lights where malfunctioning before 88! (Exhaust gas recirculation valve, Throttle Position Sensor, Air intake charge temperature sensor, Engine coolant temperature sensor)<br /><br />Most codes get logged into the system without showing a check engine light. Usually something is disconnected or really malfunctioning if the CEL is on. This doesn't mean the car is bad just a electronic sensor.<br /><br />You can do a key on engine running self test with the computer and it will flash all of the codes.<br /><br />The ford EEC IV is a really simple computer system in these cars.
