Dave's Machine Shop in Hayward. I think that's the name of it.

Only thing I'd like to add is one thine thing I learned about building my car is that it's better/cheaper to do up a motor exactly how you want the first time around. Even if it makes you stay slow/stock for a while kuz I did what you're doing spending all this money on iron heads and "cheap" setups I ended up throwing thousands away doing this. I could've been done with everything by now if I didn't go thru like 4 complete setups.

Daves machine is in newark , save up for a set of aluminums cuz the cost of dave touching the heads will be nice enough to re-consider... Other than that [worship] GT40s ftw

Had GT40P, B303 and edelbrock performer. And about taking forever it's ok I'm like at 2 years but I'm close to finishing now should leave mouths shut. [Wink] [patriot]

BTW It wouldn't have taken me anywhere this long to build what I'm doing its all thanks to the setups in between.

If spending money on these heads is an issue just do the work yourself. You shouldn't need to hot tank those heads. As for milling them, check them with a strait edge to see if they are warped. If not, just clean them up with a red scotch brite and some sanding rolls to clean up the ports. As for installing valve springs I'm sure you can rent the tool from autozone.

You're really better off buying a new set of aluminum heads for 1k instead of dropping money on these at a machine shop. However, doing the above yourself wouldn't cost you much (maybe $20), some time and elbow grease.
