Topic: Positive and negative touched now car wont start.

Its a 1990 5.0 , I was disconnecting my battery and when I was removing the negative post the opposite side of the wrench touched the positive post and a few sparks ..and now the car won't start I tried it with 2 batteries and it still doesn't want to start. I also have a sound system and the 100 fuse amp under the hood looks blown... what should I look for? thanks cafords. [ 2013-05-12, 01:47 PM: Message edited by: ed650 ]

Look for blown fuses

Check the fuseable link off of the starter relay also called a resistance wire

yea behind the battery its mounted on the driver inner fender..

I had a similar thing happen to me.
Check your fusable links in the wire harness, (going from memory) there are at least 5 of them.
