Depending on what you want u can actually have a pretty badass aod that will chirp 2nd-3rd. def not my cup of tea(5 and 6 speeds for me only) but I'd recommend a a street/strip valvebody with a 2500-3200 rpm torque converter. my buddy has this setup in his HCI gt fox and it holds 3rd gear untill u hit full throttle theen it shifts. its pretty beast but my hci notch with a 5speed still beats him. also know sum1 that runs 10's wit a built aod. You'll wanna make sure the converter is the lock-up style... u dont want a non-lockup for a street car. put some 3.73 gears or 4.10's to go with this stuff an ur car will rip offline.
these guys ^ can answer all of your questions regarding aod's n sorry but I cant recommend any shops in ur area but im sure there are sum that others know of n can recomend
