I was comming home from work when I notice my shifter getting super hard to shift. once I got home I had to put some muscle to get into the next gear. it takes off no grinding but just trying to shift is the prob I let my car sit for the rest of the day thinking the trans was prob really hot. Have it a try just now and still hard as hell
I got a ford racing adjustable cable and ford racing aluminum quardent (just installed it like 3 months ago)
Just replaced the fluid prob a month ago
Lmk Cafords thanks

Does the car clunk when put into gear? What is your procedure for adjusting the clutch cable for freeplay? I believe the clutch is not fully dis-engaged. I have had this problem a few times. I would ditch the adjustable cable and go with an OEM cable and firewall adjuster.

Make sure the jam nut that (protects the clutch fork from becoming bent)on the shifter base didnt come loose and move possibly (the stop bolts on each end of shifter base) The clutch shouldn't affect the feel of the gearbox when the car is off! If the car is off and gearbox is not spinning the syncros aren't the problem either! [ 2013-05-05, 03:35 PM: Message edited by: sneakyfox90 ]

Your title says it's hard to shift when the engine is off too, right? If that's the case, the clutch, TO bearing or syncros probably isn't the problem because those only affect the transmission with the engine running and the gears spinning. It's probably a shift fork issue. [ 2013-05-05, 05:17 PM: Message edited by: wilit ]
