looking to get cams but havent been able to figure out which ones these are the ones i've been looking at comp 262's and houston performance hp292's
cams|Exh|Int| Exh | Int| Exh| LSA| Overlap |
HP292S|0.531|0.531|228 |230|292|292| 114|+ 1.0° |
XE2622 0.500 | 0.500 | 224 | 232 | 262 | 270 | 114 | + 0.0° |
there both stage 1 cams and both are "drop in" no need to upgrade springs valves retainers etc
let me here your opinions [ September 29, 2012, 03:30 AM: Message edited by: SwEeT 03 Gt ]

if you WERE trying to stay smog legal, i would go with the E303 by ford racing, its not too aggressive but its definantly better than stock and will for sure give you a noticeable difference plus they come with a carb #... just saying

wouldnt you have had to notch your pistons to run that big of a cam, 270's are pushing it. i've heard nothing but good thing about hp292's tho

^^^ya you would have to notch the pistons, and count on doing a valve spring upgrade too.

not planning on revving it past 6200rpms so my stocks are fine, and its just a stage 1 cam. springs would be a waste of money for drop in cams if i went with the 270's then i would of upgraded to manley spings to rev up past 6500

if you are going to keep it that low you should be fine are you going to be doing any head work thats the weakest thing on the 2v besides intake
