Got a 79 stang I'm converting to a stick I ended up gettin one but the bushings an the metal around the bushing are to wide to bolt up...
Do anyone kno which year crossmember will work?????

i just put a double hump in from a 87gt on a 83 capri cause the car was converted to dual exhaust it fit like a glove

i can make u new brackets, custom and strong. i havent seen that before on your topic regardless it can be fixed.

On the older foxes, I think it was 79 to 82, if I remember correctly that was a long time ago, you have to weld on new brackets to run the newer crossmember. [ September 27, 2012, 12:54 PM: Message edited by: racsirx ]

Assuming you need a double hump crossmember, your only option is to relocate the crossmember mounts to accommodate the wider bushings or have a custom crossmember made.

ur pm is full. 100 bucks if u pull the carpet back from the sides of the car so the heat of the welding does not damage or catch fire.

pull the bushings out of the new crossmember shorten the tubes then press the bushings back in modifing as necessary. cut the centers only on the bushings and shorten the sleve acordingly
