my neighbor has a 2002 explorer with a 4.6{ it has a hellatious rod knock} I can take a push rod motor apart and reassemble it blind folded. My question is how donting is it to swap modular long blocks out and what is a good price to pay for a used one

actually much easier than a pushrod motor. you can literally pull the motors and install them complete. belt all accesories electronics everything. then just make few connections and connect a few hoses. done!... but dont even bother with a rebuild. the cost in bolts and gaskets is rediclious. just about every bolt is throw away. no resizing rods. and the heads can rarely be repaired because of lack of cam bearings.

I quoted her around 500 to do the swap if she picked everthing up. Am I selling my self short or over charging for the labor?
