if its a mild built motor then the edlebrock forsure. i have alot of luck with the edelbrock carbs for street motors with good idle vacume. never had alot of luck with the deamon carbs. everyone i know that has had one too says they are really hard to get in tune and keep in tune.. holleys are nice! but leak after some time sitting

Cody, trust me on this. I know you have them and you can make them work but man switch to a holley, preferrably an hp series as soon as your budget allows.
I have been there with SEVERAL demon carbs, and SHIT tons of edelbrocks.
With ignition timing and carb tuning, nothing and I mean NOTHING performed like a standard holley or holley HP.

the edelbrock is ok and fail safe as long as its not rotted or pitted out on the inside;. gonna have to do a spring and jet upgrade to make it get any power out of it. completely fail safe is tho. the demon is a fancy holley but i heard they had problems with inconsistency in the metering blocks, and like most any holly stle carb will need special touching and setting up. but will get the most power there is. just gotta be holly carb smart. and like dan said the holly hp r one of the best out there. quick fuel makes a dam gd holly stlye carb as well.

Ahhh Duncan is half right about using the 3310 vacuum secondary 750 on all out performance car. They suuport typically with small jetting and vacuum diaphram changes about 430rwhp. Most 390s fall WAY short of that....unless you have an aluminum headed 390 or some head work on stock 390 non cobra jet castings.
My dads 67 LTD with a 428 cobra jet motor, 3 inch pipes with dual POINTS went 13.00 at 108 in a 4500 pound car that shows probably this carbs max potential. He later went to an 800 double pumper (this was 1987) and the car picked up to 12.70s at 110.

Ok. Yea right now all it has is a eddy intake and carb, and headers.
Kinda off topic, but whats a good cam for these motors? I want nice lopey idle and good mid range power.
