I ordered this outer door handle kit N they sent me rivets N I was wondering how do you install these rivets? Do I hammer them in or what?
These are the exact ones I ordered

You will need a rivet gun like this one.

Harbor Freight has ones like it for cheap.

If you get lock nuts on the inside they cant get them off if they tried. Unless they take your door panels off

Osh has a 4 pack of the right nuts and screws. There Phillips head screws forgot the size but they will look perfect when you see them. See if I can dig up the bag

I'll go check on them after work since I have to wait for about 40 minutes till my siblings get out of school. I kinda wish I didn't have to change my door handles but my driver one broke N my passenger isn't far thanks to the weather-stripping making it so tight.

Use carriage bolts so you cant unbolt or unscrew them from the outside.

This is what I did, in addition to using lock nuts on the inside.

Use rivets way better than bolts if bolts were better ford would have done it that way to start.

This is what I bought at Amazon.com. Works great. If I was closer, I'd run it down to ya. you'll also need this if your door actuators go out.

Neight save your self the headache send that whole kit back and go to PNP and get a pair of handles from an ESCORT thay came in chrome and black. I bought that kit and the handles were so sloppy it was a joke to try opening the doors with new seals I would have to lift up on the handle and push in to open them. I took my cordless drill and a center punch to drill the rivets out on the ESCORT and it literaly took me a minute per side to reinstall I used a 1/4 philips screw half inch long and a nylon lock nuts

Rivets take less than 2 miutes. Send me a PM. I have a rivet gun. No part stores or rental stores carry the large one.

I just ordered a set of those handles. Bought 4 phillips head bolts and matching lock nuts, and 5 min later I have nice door handles again!

i ran 1/4" bolts with lock nuts also. works like a dream, and best thing about it is theres no rivets to get stretched and loose, if bolts get loose you can simply tighten them.
