Buddy purchased a 86 lx hatchback 5.0 yesterday drove fine until this morning went to start it and its just clicking at the solineod so change it same noise change alternator same thing change back it starts rite up brand new battery hour lafter after driving here n there getting back home BA k to starting point clicking at the solineod again any suggestions appreciated thanks

Did you try the voltage regulator? I think theyre external on 86's

Somethins draining your battery...check all charging system connections..make sure no switches are on.

If you have a Digital Multi Meter check voltage.. If you have a new batt and a new alt. you might have connection issues, as the car is on you should have 14.5 V. Normally if not check voltage at alternator.. If theirs a difference between the alt and batt voltage you have a voltage drop.. Or check resistance on all 4 wires.. Ign.-solenoid..solenoid-ground or on the high amp side from starter to solenoid or solenoid to Batt.. Let me know the outcome
