i had a leak in my lower intake manifold so i replaced the gaskets and noticed the pcv valve in the back of the manifold and all that is their is a black gromet and a round mesh screen under that and is conected to a black hose it looks like something goes in the gromet but nothing is their so it looks like i dont have a pcv valve is this right thanks.

it must have been that way since i bought the car what kind of problems does this cause.

the end of the black hose should have the pcv valve on it, the pcv valve goes into the black grommet

without that, if the rest of the pcv vacuum lines are hooked up you would have a massive vacuum leak from the pcv system causing a high idle and generally shitty performance.
