i never done it but if you have the donor car already, give it a shot and see what would need to be done

yeah i mounted it using a couple screws and my friend holding it in place have problems with the door handles hit the dash i cant find a way around it i even took a padding of the door panels and still cant open the door when close. i have a two tone 94 cobra dashboard so its not digital.. in my head i picture it looking awesome just cant get the steering perfect and the door panels been going at it for a couple of weeks on weekends [ April 04, 2012, 12:15 AM: Message edited by: 89 lx hatch ]

The best way I've seen it done it to relocate the interior door handle to the area above the speaker, similar to the early foxes. Other than doing that, most people that have done the swap cut the majority of the door handle off leaving just a stub to open the door. This doesn't look right in my opinion.

i did it and took it back off and ran a stock dash for weight reasons. the late model dash is really heavy. getting the dash to work is fairly straight foward. trim some across the deforst vents. then make your own bracket near the center to support it. the trick part is the heater box. get ready to custom fabricate alot there. the outlets for the vent redgesters are completely different between the two. and there will be a clearance problem if i remember right. i had mine all together like i said but didnt want all that extra weight. and hated the door handle issue.

You can see in the first picture theyve moved the door handle to above the window switch on the armrest.Looks nice IMO.

I have seen somewhere 'on the internet a guy was able to swap the actual interior door panels as well. Looks like a shit-load of work.
