hey guys.i have a 93 5.0 motor that im rebuilding and my intention is to go straight carburated and make my coupe a track car with 175 shot.im of course going to do all the nessesary changes and get all the right parts i need to accomplish this.
my question is wat pistons/crank if needed do i need to get to obtain the highest compression i can get.because nitrous likes high compression right? looking to be around the 10.5 11.1 ratio

which heads you going with?as was mentioned before, combustion chamber size makes a big difference and valve layout can factor in to the selection of pistons

flat tops should be fine, dished pistons as well. Just depends on combination of piston and combustion chamber size to get the compression youre looking for.

If this is a track car, why limit yourself to 10.5-11:1 compression ratio?

If your running race gas, you can get up to 14:1-15:1

My buddy runs 15:1 with two stages equaling 300. Nitrous is about the tune and the fuel.
