so i have a 306 that was decked and rotated and trick flow 170 that were milled. Do u think stock length push rods will work on this set up and also do i have to fully assemble the motor and run it to check the push rods

Come on, Dan doesn't know this? TFS heads require a longer push rod than stock, usually around 6.70, but you can you use an adjustable push rod to figure it out, I have one he can borrow.

Just pulled out the instruction sheet that came with my heads. They say with a hydraulic roller the pushrod length should be 6.750". With a decked block and shaved heads, you might be closer to 6.80". Best to measure to be sure.

^ if anything the pushrods will need to be smaller than 6.75, you should always check them anyway! good luck

Yeah you're right, I went the wrong way with my thinking.
