picking up a 86fox soon, its all stock. 5.0 non MAF.
and the parts i got for it is:
BBK shortys Flows with turndowns offroad h pipe TF 70mm TB and spacer e303 frpp roller lifters
and i was wondering if the setup will be fine with the stock fuel system and no tune? and with the stock rockers? since they say 1.6 is needed, but stocks are 1.58..
what should the timing be set at?
anything i should look out/replace while im building? i doing everything at once.
thanks! any input will help! [ September 06, 2011, 11:59 PM: Message edited by: norcalfiddy ]

Might run funny with that cam and speed density. I'd look for a maf conversion and maybe even a low mileage 87 and up long block

I would just put the 1.6 rockers with the e6 heads. Whith that cam you I think you need different pistons & heads. You won't have valve clearance you need and you'll get valve float. I recently rebuilt my 86 block. I put 89 pistons & 93 e7 heads with a e303 cam ,1.6 rockers. Basically you would have to convert to 87-95.

your cam will not work unless the engine has been rebuilt with pistons that have valve reliefs or the engine is a 87 or newer 86 is the only year that came with flat top pistons for that reason alone alot of guys stay away from that year

alright, will i be fine with the b303? since the lift is only .480/.480? since i heard .500 is max for a 86 without changing pistons?

Hell no man. +1 nothing...Never assume anything. Always check the piston to valve clearance. You are risking your engine when you just assume you have x amount of clearance.......
Come on.....
Someone could have had this car apart it is over 20 years old.......assembly line work and you gonna trust it is close the the next one? Dont do it.

I've never personally ran the b303 cam in a speed density car so I can't speak first hand but I'd bet u can get away with it

Your rite. Especially if it still has original valve springs.
