89 LX 5.0 5 speed, was running fine, but sat for a couple months and now hard to start (sort of)...when went to start a week or so ago, it didn't want to start right away, but after several tries--started, so I changed plugs, cap and rotor an started right up--went to town and ran fine on highway, came out from Safeway and same thing...took several times to start-then seemed to run OK back home..afraid to take anywhere....can hear fuel pump whine OK, changed maybe 2 yrs ago along with fuel filter, idles OK, just went out and it started right up---any ideas on where to start looking? TIA

Turbo 50, the fuel pressure sounds like a good place to start-if it was diesal....you might say it had lost prime (or loss of injector pressure)....I found myself pumping the gas pedal (old school) kinf of stupid after I thought about it. The car has 356K original miles and was my daily driver until I got a $500 Taurus....I know !!!! Where is the fuel pressure regulator and can it be tested with a gauge or just replace----once stated, appears to run OK. I assume there is only one fuel filter-the soda can size one by the tank. Thanks for the idea..........jim
