Okay, so I was recently given a 1990 Nissan Maxima, I was told that it wasn't getting spark and it needed a distributor. So I took a trip to Pick n Pull, got one and threw it in the car. Car started right up, ran decent (timing a little off). I let it run for awhile and then shut it off. When I went to start it up again (maybe 2 or 3 minutes later) it wouldn't start!
The car sat for about 45 minutes or so, cooled down and then fired back up again. It runs until I turn it off then I have to wait for it to cool down before it will start.
Any ideas on what the problem could be? Thanks guys.

It'll just crank and crank. Once it cools down it fires right up.

my moms old 91 had the same thang goin on an we found out it was the coil an coil wire that was bad!

I was slow to take the hint, so I'm taking a break from CAFords for the rest of the month. Now excuse me while I enjoy some cereal. Mmmmm Mmmmm good. Who else wants to join me?

Okay so I've replaced the plug wires, coil, and ignition control module. The car has the same issue. Another thing I've run into, I left the battery hooked up on accident and the next day it was completely dead. We're talking a brand new Interstate battery, completely drained.
Could this be related issues?
