i have a edelbrock performer 5.0 upper and lower intake now (i believe its part no. 3820?). my question is, do the performer 5.0 and the performer rpm2 use the same lower manifold or are they different. just wanted to know if they are so i just have to buy the upper. thanks cafords

No, they are not the same lower. The RPM 2 is CNC port matched to the larger upper runners and is machined I believe .375" shorter otherwise it wouldn't fit under a stock hood.

performer and performer rpm 1 share the same, not 2.

Yea i googled it you guys are right, the rpm2 doesnt work but the rpm1 does, is there a noticable gain? If not i might just buy a complete rpm2 manifold

308 with the edelbrock performer 5.0 intake, edelbrock performer heads 2.02/1.60 valves, dual valve springs, 5 angle valve job, c/r about 9.5 to 1, 1.6 roller rockers, custom cam, 70mm t/b, longtubes, no cats, magnaflows, 24# inj, etc. [ July 02, 2011, 10:43 PM: Message edited by: sydewayzLX50 ]

If it was me I would put my money in a tune first.

Yeah, either get a custom tune, or purchase your own wideband and tune it yourself. You might be able to get 10hp out of an RPM II, but is that worth the install hassle and big price tag? I would say probably not. You could get a nice wideband for $300 install is easy, and tune it in your spare time to get 10hp no problem.
Or you could take the $ you were gonna spend on the RPM II and put in a small N2O shot and get more than 10hp no problem.
Or get yourself some 36# injectors and switch to E85 and get way more than 10hp
...just some food for thought
