10 years ago, it was pretty complicated getting a T5 into an old school because very few people had done it. Now it's pretty easy. I've got a '68 with a C4 and am swapping out to a T5. Here's a list of all the parts you'll need and what I paid for it all.
'84 T5 (only bought because of the 2.95 1st and .63 5th) - $350 from a buddy Bellhousing - Included w/transmission Shifter base - Included w/transmission Clutch Fork - Included w/transmission Yoke w/driveshaft from Fox body - Included w/transmission Transmission mount - Included w/transmission Flywheel (used) - $40 from Californiafords.com classifieds Block plate (used) - $15 from Californiafords.com classifieds King Cobra clutch disc and pressure plate (new) - $120 from Californiafords.com classifieds Longacre 36" hydraulic line (new part #LON-28050) - $30 from Summit Throwout bearing (new) - $27 from Summit Roller pilot bearing (new) - $14 from Summit Clutch Alignment tool (new) - $5 from Summit ARP Flywheel bolts (new) - $9 from Summit Hurst shifter handle (new part #538-8022) - $80 from Summit Hurst shifter knob (new) - $15 from eBay Shifter boot from '69 w/Hurst shifter (new) - $15 from eBay Shifter boot trim from '69 (new) - $12 from eBay Clutch pedal (used) - $40 from Turlock swap meet Clutch pedal pad (new) - $4 from Mustangs Plus Brake pedal pad (new) - $10 from Mustangs Plus (will cut down auto pedal to work) Clutch pedal bushings (new) - $1 from Mustangs Plus Speedometer gear (new) - $10 from Mustangs Plus Transmission Crossmember (new) - $80 from NE Performance Mustang Hydraulic master, slave and bracket kit (new) - $236 from Dazecars.com
Total Cost: $1,113

I am doing a T5 conversion on my 70 coupe. It's an I6 3speed car. What I need:
T5 w/ shifter Trans to Bell housing Adapter T5 Crossmember
And that's it. I MIGHT have to get my driveshaft shortened. A lot simpler than I thought it'd be. I just picked up a T5 from pick and pull today because they are having 50% off all weekend. $91 out the door (will get $30 back when I take in a core).
