Started a new thread since I have narrowed the problem.
Car is a 1999 GT. Old engine was pulled and a Mach1 4v swapped in. I checked the swap writeup HERE and everything looks as if it is done correctly.
Symptoms: The car should in theory start, but the Fuel Pump wont prime. (I can hear a slight constant hummm when I put my ear to the Tank)
The car has spark and will run for a few seconds with starting fluid sprayed in.
No codes come up when computer linked. Dash lights looks normal no theft blinking and mileage shows up fine.
I think I have narrowed it down to a bad fuel pump but I want to make sure I have checked everything before I pull the tank.
Checked so far: The Car has Gas The Fuse has power on both sides. Inertia switch is not tripped. DK Green/yellow wire from CCRM to inertia switch has power w/ key on (used test light) Pink/Black wire from inertia switch to FPDM has power w/ key on. Brown/pink wire (pin 10) from FPDM to fuel pump assembly has power w/ key on Red/Black wire (pin 3) from FPDM to fuel pump assemply has power w/ key on
The following do NOT have power at key on according to test light, and I'm not sure if they are supposed to have power. White/red wire (pin 1) between FPDM to PCM LightBlue/orange wire (pin7) between FPDM and PCM Red/Pink wire between PCM and Fuel Tank Pressure sensor
The car has been sitting since 2004 but was running rough when my buddy parked and stored it around 2007. I've read about a few pumps that go bad when they are not being driven much.
Should I check anything else or pull the tank and order a fuel pump? Also Pump reccomendations? Please Help! Thanks! [ May 12, 2011, 10:14 PM: Message edited by: 99FLYER ]

Id pull the tank and verify voltage to the pump first. This is a freebie if you are going to replace the pump anyway.

No rail pressure senso codes. I think I got the final wire tithe pump checked with voltage (plus pump humms). I'll pull it tomorrow and see what I get~

i didnt see this in the explanation did you check fuel pressure? also im not sure but if you hear it humming could the fuel pump be powered backwards? or broken pickup or hose that connects the pump to the line in the tank? like said above best bet would probably be dropping the tank.

Guess I didn't list that, but I had checked for fuel pressure also. There was no fuel pressure.
I found that C463 round connector after removing my lower bumper cover attaching clips (Saleen). I injected 12v to the two pump motor wires and heard nothing. I reversed wires and heard nothing.
I removed the tank after siphoning gas out. (tip: to siphon gas simply remove vapor hose at Tank in front of filler neck entry. The siphon hose would not reach the bottom of the tank through the filler neck. I used 3/8 hose and it slips into the vapor hose hole at tank easily)
After removing tank I tried injecting 12v again... nothing. I tried again and it spun. I reversed wires and it spun the other way. Tried it again and then nothing. I guess it is a bad pump that is sticking and freezing from not being used since 2004.
Went ahead and ordered a greentop SVT Focus pump for a minimal fee from Steve at Tousley Ford of Minnesota. When it arrives and gets installed I will update on the status of the car.
Anyone have input?------>I heard that Walbro just released TU228 (OEM replacement) and TU229 (High Volume) Fuel Pump assemblies for the 99-00 Mustang GT. The Walbro 255 was not designed to be used with variable voltage and these new pumps are gerator style that are also designed to work reliably with variable voltage. None of the aftermarket Mustang shops carry it yet so I wasn't sold on it and went with the SVT Focus pump. The Walbro assembly is available at fuel-pumps.net

Okay, fuel pump arrived last night with a broken basket..... luckily since it's the SVT Focus pump I only needed the actual pump., so this morning I dropped the new pump into the tank and bolted up and connected everything. Turned the key and it primed. I went to the bleeder valve on the fuel rail and kept releasing the air in the system. it took about 10 priming sessions to get all the air out. Cranked her over and it started right up! See my other post for details on how she runs!
